PASG and microRNAs
Research Description: While searching for genes involved in cell growth and/or apoptosis in leukemia, our lab observed that Proliferation-associated SNF2-like Gene (PASG) expression levels were greatly altered after cytokine withdrawal. We have since created a PASG mutant mouse model and have determined that PASG is required for maintaining DNA methylation and regulating genes necessary for normal growth and longevity. We are currently investigating which microRNAs are expressed in our PASG mutants versus those expressed in our wild-type mice.
